I think it has to do with women typically experiencing higher stress/problems in their daily lives. Women are more likely to develop chronic illnesses than men, for example. Having a lower position in society can come with all sorts of baggage
As I understand it, women in straight marriages initiate divorce more than men. Given how awful so many straight men seem to be, that makes sense. Why lesbians divorce more ...? I'm not qualified to guess on that.
